A Collaboration Protocol was Signed Between Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center and Ege University

Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG) and Ege University Have Agreed to Collaborate on the Areas of Education, Research and Technology Development

IBG Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Öztürk, Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kutsal Turhan from Ege University, some academic members and research group leaders from both institutions were present in the signing ceremony which took place at Ege University on Tuesday 10th of March, 2020.

The main objective of the protocol is, if needed, to enable joint research projects among researchers from both institutions, to provide them easier access to the infrastructures at the University and the Center, and to facilitate full-time or part-time employment opportunities between the institutes. The two institutes will provide one another with education and training support, and students from Ege University will have the opportunity to do internships at IBG.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Budak said “Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center is Turkey’s first thematic research center in the health field, and contributes to the health sector with innovative technologies and products. This collaboration we are establishing with IBG has great importance for us to be able to create fast and efficient solutions to ever-changing health requirements, and to revise the opportunities, potentials and infrastructures we have in the health field in compliance with current technology.”. Prof. Dr. Öztürk stated that he strongly believes this protocol designed to strengthen the collaboration will be fruitful soon.
