Assistant Researcher/Post-Doctoral Researcher

Full-time personnel will be recruited to work as a Assistant Researcher/Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Tozburun Lab.on Biophotonics and Optical Imaging within the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center.

Qualifications :

Compulsary :

  • Ph.D. in Electric&Electronic Engineering,
  • Profound knowledge of the principles and techniques of optics and photonics,
  • Solid background in data analysis and evaluation, 
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of biomedical optics (counting after B.Sc.),
  • Written and oral English proficiency,
  • Advanced level of competency in using Microsoft Office,
  • Ability to both work in a team in close collaboration with multiple researchers, as well as the ability to work independently.

Desired :

  • B.Sc. in Electric Electronic Engineering,
  • Numerical modeling skills,
  • Practical experience with lasers, cavities, detection systems and interferometers,
  • Ability to contribute to the outlined a research programme,
  • Ability to take forward a research project and to deliver output,
  • Record of research experience, e.g., publications and conference contributions,
  • TOEFL: >100, YDS: >80,
  • Basic working knowledge of MatLab, LabVIEW, C++ and Linux,
  • No military obligation for male candidates.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Defining, developing and undertaking scientific experiments directed towards the research programme under the supervision of the Principle Investigator of Tozburun Laboratory.
  • Data collection, processing and analysis.
  • Writing research papers for internationally refereed journals and presenting results at national and international conferences.
  • Engaged in writing technical reports.
  • Presentation of the project results to internal and external parties.
  • Operating specialized scientific equipment.
  • Effectively using available technology to facilitate the success of the project.
  • May supervise classified staff, graduate assistants, or student employees.
  • May be responsible for training staff, graduate assistants, or student employees.
  • May assist with other reasonably practical and administrative duties as required.
  • May be involvement in apparatus design, and preparation of technical specifications.
  • Preparing and maintaining solutions, supplies, and ancillary material necessary for continued operation of the laboratory activities including research projects.
  • Responsible for procurement activities.
