Seven researchers from the İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG) have been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1001 – Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program.
With this achievement, IBG ranked 17th among all universities and research institutions applying to the TÜBİTAK 1001 program, and 1st among research centers established under Law No. 6550.
This year, projects led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Sağ, Dr. Gerhard Wingender, Dr. Sibel Kalyoncu Uzunlar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Güven, Dr. Zeynep Ahsen Koçer, Dr. Tuğçe Batur, and Dr. Müge Özkan were deemed worthy of support by TÜBİTAK.
In his statement, IBG Director Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kılıç emphasized that IBG operates with a strong vision to advance science in Türkiye and improve the quality of life in society. Congratulating the researchers, Kılıç said, “The acceptance of seven of our research projects into the TÜBİTAK 1001 Program is a proud testament to both our center’s scientific strength and the international competence of our researchers. At IBG, we remain committed to supporting all forms of scientific productivity and to paving the way for our researchers.”
