ELSEVIER SPECIAL POSTER AWARD FOR IBG STUDENT

From İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG) Çetin Lab, Sevim Deniz Yaşar was honored with the Elsevier Special Poster Award at the 33rd International Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis Symposium.

As an undergraduate student working in the Nanophotonics and Biodetection Systems Laboratory under the supervision of Arif Engin ÇETİN, Sevim Deniz Yaşar received the Elsevier Special Poster Award for her poster titled "Automated Optofluidic Platform for Cell Counting" at the 33rd International Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis Symposium (PBA 2023).

The developed fully automated imaging technology in the featured study can count cells using image processing algorithms to determine the concentration and viability of cell populations and calculate concentration, viability, and size distribution graphs of cells in a short time, as fast as one minute. This platform, capable of determining cell concentration and viability with high accuracy in a very short time compared to conventional methods, is highly important for enhancing the processing speed and accuracy of scientists in life sciences and pharmaceutical research.

As the IBG family, we congratulate our student and wish her continued success.
