Dr. Sibel Kalyoncu Uzunlar from Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center is one of the four women scientists who were awarded for the 21st year of "For Women In Science" program in Turkey, in partnership with UNESCO and L'ORÉAL.

With the studies she continues at the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center, her project aims to obtain a new generation antibody drug that has dual specificity and can be used in the treatment of lung cancer. This can enable the immune system to start a bilateral war on cancer. Her research on developing an original drug may provide a new treatment strategy for lung cancer, which still causes thousands of deaths.
