IBG STUDENT’S TEKNOFEST 2021 ACHIEVEMENT

IBG Master’s student Fatma Kurul and her team came second with their Project “ctDNA Detecting Biosensor Production for the Early Detection of Cancer” in TEKNOFEST 2021’s Biotechnology and Innovation Competition, University and Above Level Idea Category.

IBG Master’s student Fatma KURUL and five students who come from different universities and formed Cancer BioTech team attended the competition as part of TEKNOFEST 2021, which is organised by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, aiming to enhance the national technologies of the country. IBG research group leader Dr. Arif Engin Çetin and Bahçeşehir University lecturer Dr. Timuçin Avşar supported the students for the project “ctDNA Detecting Biosensor Production for the Early Detection of Cancer”.

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, IBG Chair of the Board Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil, Bayraktar Industry Chief Technical Officer and T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Bayraktar and many prominent guests attended TEKNOFEST 2021, which took place between 21-26 September at Ataturk Airport. There was great interest in the project of Team Cancer Biotech during the TEKNOFEST 2021 competition, and the team came second in the category “Biotechnology and Innovation Competition, University and Above Level Ideas Category”.
