Leadership change at IBG
A handover ceremony took place at the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), marking a change in the center's directorship. Rector of Dokuz Eylul University (DEU), Prof. Dr. Bayram Yılmaz, handed over his role as Director of IBG to Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kılıç.
The handover ceremony was attended by DEU Vice Rectors, deans, IBG researchers, and staff. Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Bayram Yılmaz said, "It has been a great honor to serve at IBG. I am happy to have had the opportunity to contribute to this institution. I wish our new director, Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kılıç, every success in his new role."
In his speech, the new Director of the İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kılıç, emphasized the scientific strength and national value of the center, stating; “IBG is not only one of the leading and respected research centers of the region but also of Turkey. It is a great honor for me to take over this important mission, which also comes with a high level of responsibility. We are determined to advance the scientific capacity of our center even further with the valuable support of Prof. Dr. Bayram Yılmaz, the Rector of Dokuz Eylül University and also a member of IBG’s Board of Directors. I sincerely thank Prof. Dr. Bayram Yılmaz for his visionary contributions and guidance throughout this process.”
