Prof. Dr. Bayram YILMAZ, Rector of Dokuz Eylül University and Board Member of the İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (İBG), has been formally presented with his membership certificate by the Academia Europaea, one of Europe’s most prestigious scientific institutions, following his election to the Academy. The ceremony took place in Barcelona. Founded in 1988, the Academia Europaea invites members across Europe based on scientific merit. In 2025, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz was the sole scientist from Turkey accepted into the Academy, and he will represent the country as the only Turkish member in the “Physiology and Neuroscience” category. The membership certificate was presented during the “Building Bridges Barcelona 2025” event. At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz delivered a presentation sharing his research in neurophysiology, neuroendocrinology, and environmental health with the participants.
